Chinese, Noodles
Flavors, Presentation, Food Preparation, Waiter, Ambiance, etc… One of the many places I’ve had bookmarked for a while. Any place that has hand pulled noodles will be my first pick.
I had the L2 Braised Beef Noodle Soup. The difference between that and L1 LAN Special is the broth. L1 has a clear broth and thin slices of meat supposedly. The braised beef soup was dark and chunks of beef. It was very good but as I noted above, the soup could have come out hotter. In their defense, it was a cold night and the door was open (covid) so it could have cooled it down faster.
Hubby had the L3. He got it at a spicy level but I would say it was spicy. Not super spicy. But it was just that - spicy - we couldn’t taste the flavor fullness like we could with L2. Both soups come with spinach and lots of cilantro and green onion.
Smashed cucumber was good but not too strong. Pig feet came out hot but didn’t have a chance to get to it until it cooled down. Nothing mind-blowing but good simple pigs feet.
What I liked most was seeing our noodles hand pulled especially for our order. It was not done in big bunches. The guy behind the counter would make each type/style according as the orders came in so you could see him make the signature wide flat noodle one minute and then the thin round one next.
Overall while it didn’t wow us, it was very good. Service was good. We will be back to try more.
Lots of to-go orders. We got there around 6 and there was only 1 customer there. By the time we left, a few people were waiting for a table. Definitely gets busy.
